The Takahashi TSA-120 is an apochromatic triplet refractor with exceptional correction for observation and astrophotography. With one S-FPL53 ED element, the air-spaced triplet lens cell provides similar performance to their flagship TOA series with a Strehl ratio of 99.2% at the optimal wavelengths of human vision.
The TSA-120 has a native focal length of 900mm and a focal ratio of f/7.5, making it the ideal instrument for capturing a wide range of deep sky objects.
A selection of three different field correctors are available to suit different applications (sold separately). With the optional TOA-35RD focal reducer, the telescope is transformed into a highly corrected astrograph with a large 44mm image circle. In addition, a 1.5x focal extender is available, also corrected for full-frame sensors.
The rack and pinion focuser is smooth and accurate. For serious imaging, the Prima Luce Lab Esatto 3" robotic microfocuser is compatible with the additional PL3600296 adapter. NOTE: Use of the optional focal reducers will likely require a custom adapter for the Esatto. Please contact us for more information.
