The ZWO EFW 7 x 50mm electronic filter wheel was designed for the medium format ASI461MM Pro, which requires 50mm square filters to minimize vignetting across its huge sensor.
The EFW 7 x 50mm is CNC machined from a solid block of aircraft aluminium and has an optical thickness of only 16mm. The stepper motor is made in Japan by NPM and has very high precision and reliability. The filter wheel is bi-directional, making filter changes very quick.
Note: The EFW 7 x 50mm is designed to work only with the ASI461MM Pro and OAG-L M68 off-axis guider.
The EFW 7 x 50mm is powered by 5V DC like all ZWO EFW filter wheels, so can be connected to the USB 2.0 ports found on ASI cooled cameras.
The EFW 7 x 50mm supports unmounted 50mm square filters with a thickness between 3-4mm. Like other ZWO filter wheels, darkening rings are included to prevent light leaks due to the small gaps between the filter wheel and camera or OAG. The below diagram shows where to install them:
