The WandererAstro FilterCube 50 is a revolutionary filter wheel for RASA 11" & 36cm telescopes, allowing up to five 2"/50mm round filters to be automatically swapped with zero obstruction to the optical path.

 

 

With an optical thickness of only 60.3mm and outer diameter of 114mm, the FilterCube seamlessly allows any camera with 12.5mm of backfocus to be utilized without additional adapters. On the RASA 36, the FilterCube supports cameras with backfocus less than 17.5mm (additional adapters required).

 

 

The FilterCube includes an integrated manual camera angle adjuster and 3-point rear tilt adjuster. A unique access-slot design also allows collimation while the FilterCube is installed.

Optimized mechanical dimensions and extensive anti-reflection measures minimize common RASA imaging issues such as ghosting, halos, rainbow artifacts and uneven flat frames.

 

 

Constructed from robust aluminium alloy with partial carbon fibre components, the FilterCube weighs only 385 grams while maintaining exceptional durability and rigidity.

Multiple Wanderer FilterCubes can be connected to the same computer and controlled independently over ASCOM. This is a huge advantage for sky survey systems and users running multiple RASAs simultaneously.

 

Note: Maximum thickness of 2" mounted filter cell is 6mm, excluding threads which must be no longer than 3mm. Thickness range of unmounted filters must be between 1.9 - 3.5mm. Due to the design, the filter mounted in the central slot will always be in the light path. It is recommended that this be a luminance or UV/IR-cut filter.
