The Takahashi TOA-130NFB is an Ortho-Apochromatic triplet refractor with the highest possible correction of any refractor on the market. The unique optical configuration based on a highly air-spaced triplet completely eliminates spherical aberration while having the best chromatic correction in the Takahashi range. With two S-FPL53 ED elements, the air-spaced triplet lens cell has a Strehl ratio of 99.8% at the optimal wavelengths of human vision.
The TOA-130NFB is equipped with an oversized 4" rack and pinion focuser with a precise 1:7 microfocuser, CAA camera angle adjuster for photographic framing, FQR-1 base for 7 x 50 finderscope (finder not included) and a retractable dew shield.
The TOA-130 has a native focal length of 1000mm and a focal ratio of f/7.7, making it the ideal instrument for capturing a wide range of deep sky objects such as planetary nebulae and galaxies. Due to its extraordinary correction, the TOA-130 also excels at high resolution planetary imaging.
Typical apochromatic refractors are corrected for chromatic aberration at the expense of increasing spherical aberration at certain wavelengths. The TOA's unique design eliminates this problem, with less than 0.01mm focal shift across the visible spectrum - 1/100th less aberration than typical apochromatic designs!
A selection of three different field correctors are available to suit different applications (sold separately). With the optional TOA-35FL field flattener, the telescope is transformed into a full-frame capable with a large 40mm image circle. For even larger sensors, the TOA-645 field flattener provides a corrected image circle of 60mm, making it suitable for use with medium-format sensors.
In addition, a 1.5x focal extender is available, also corrected for full-frame sensors with a 44mm image circle.
For serious imaging, the Prima Luce Lab Esatto 3" robotic microfocuser is compatible with the additional PL3600245 adapter. NOTE: Use of the optional focal reducers will likely require a custom adapter for the Esatto. Please contact us for more information.
Note: The OTA ONLY variant does not include tube rings or a dovetail bar. For the TOA-130NFB, you can use the PrimaLuceLab 155mm PLUS tube rings in combination with the PrimaLuceLab 350mm Losmandy bar.
