Sturdy, easy to install, easy to lock and unlock.
The duo camera is very impressive, easy to use, great pictures. The guide camera just works. Certainly simplifies the setup. My disappointment is with the inbuilt ASIAIR. Coming from a stand alone ASIAIR Pro I expected it would be the same, it isn’t.
There is no control over the DC input/outputs unlike the stand alone unit. This impacts the ability to control the power level going to, say, the dew heater. If that isn’t an issue for you than this is a great all in one unit
Must have for novices, makes alighnment so easy.
Works really well. Just make sure your setup has enough power if you running lots of devices.
It’s great that you can limit it to 180 degrees
I have been using the UHC-L filter on my W.O. Redcat 51 and 71 and I am loving the results that I am getting with this filter. I am very impressed indeed, both with the filter and the Redcats, all awesome pieces of kit.
I have been using this camera for just over a year now coupled with a ZWO filter wheel and a Baader filter set. I have been really happy with the results. The camera is fast and the images are very clean. A huge improvement over my last camera. No issues using the inbuilt guide camera through the filters - N.I.N.A. / PHD2 always finds multiple stars to guide on. The inbuilt guide camera really simplifies my setup. I highly recommend this camera. Examples of my images here: https://deepspaceplace.com/images.php?sort=&filter=ASI2600MM
I don't own an observatory so a three hour set up (250 f4 truss Newtonian on a g11 mount plus camera and guide scope) requires me to leave the setup outside during the observing window. This cover, the large, allows this. It fits well. The only addition I could recommend would be Velcro straps on the apron. My setup is outside Tamworth. I face hot weather and thunderstorms. A permanent observatory is my next step, but this cover dampens the urgency. My setup includes a large camera on the side of the Newtonian. The cover is large enough to include leaving the camera on, near focus, and ready to go the next night.
I have a long history with telescopes and astronomy, yet this device has blown me away. At half the price of my first Celestron and incredible results this purchase has been a revelation. I have awesome service from Testar and am loving exploring the sky with the S30.
Beautiful workmanship and lightweight being carbon fibre. It attaches to my truss OTA with their mounting bracket and allows for precise adjustment and alignment. It has an impressive amount of brightness adjustment but my only gripe is that the panel is so bright I need to set it on its lowest value. Had I known I would have got a neutral density filter for it. It’s pricey but it takes one more tedium out of taking flats as it can be automated in management software like Sequence Generator Pro. Highly recommended!
