TAKAHASHI REDUCER-QB 0.73x FOR FSQ-85EDX
TAKAHASHI REDUCER-QB 0.73x FOR FSQ-85EDX is not in stock but it can be backordered.
The new Takahashi Reducer-QB is a 0.73x focal reducer for the FSQ-85EDX Petzval Quadruplet refractor designed for modern sensors with small pixels. The 0.73x reduction factor transforms the FSQ-85EDX into an ultra-wide 330mm f/3.88 astrograph.
This new model adopts a more complex optical design (four elements including one made of ED glass), giving far better star shapes than the previous Reducer-QE. The spot diagrams below show an incredible calculated spot size of only 1.6 microns in the centre and 4 microns at the edge of a full frame.
The field curvature of the FSQ-85EDX is corrected to a similar level as the standard 1.01x flattener. As a result, the image circle is 44mm in diameter.

In order to use the Reducer-QB with the FSQ-85EDX, you simply screw it onto the CAA-2 rotator that is included as standard with the telescope via M72 x 1 threads. To connect a typical image train you will need the following adapter (sold separately):
- CA35 (SKY90) TKA35201 - M56 x 0.75 Female to M54 x 0.75 Female 16mm
The Reducer-QB has an internal filter thread for 58mm photographic filters.
