The Takahashi Epsilon 180-ED is an ultra-fast widefield astrograph with a flat-field design for serious astrophotography. Featuring a hyperbolic primary mirror and integrated corrector, the Epsilon 180ED provides very good correction over a 44mm image circle, with stars at the edge of the field being less than 10 microns in size.
The Epsilon 180ED is equipped with a precise rack and pinion focuser with camera angle adjuster for easy framing of targets. The Epsilon 180ED has a native focal length of 500mm and a focal ratio of f/2.8, making it the perfect instrument for imaging of large nebulae and star clusters.
Despite its photographic focus, the Epsilon doubles as an exceptional wide-field visual telescope, thanks to its fine optical correction. Collimation is straightforward with markings on each mirror and the included collimation eyepiece, allowing adjustment during the daytime.
The rack & pinion focuser has a shaft diameter of 8mm, so you will need a custom coupler in order to use the ZWO EAF.
Note: The OTA ONLY variant does not include tube rings or a dovetail bar. For the Epsilon 180ED, you can use the PrimaLuceLab 235mm PLUS tube rings with an extra layer of thick felt, in combination with the PrimaLuceLab 350mm Losmandy bar.
