OPTEC LEPUS 0.62x TELECOMPRESSOR - M54
The Optec Lepus 0.62x Telecompressor is a 4-element universal focal reducer for many different telescopes which have 2" focusers. This set includes an M54 x 0.75 male camera adapter, allowing a variety of imaging trains to be easily connected.
The Lepus pairs particularly well with Meade ACF f/10 & f/8 coma-free Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes as well as the Celestron EdgeHD series for deep sky astrophotography.
The Lepus provides a well-corrected field up to 28mm in diameter, making it suitable for use with APS-C sensors and smaller. The Lepus can deliver a vignetting-free image circle up to 22mm, with minimal light fall off above that. Flat-field calibration is recommended for larger sensors.
With a typical backfocus spacing of 100mm with most telescopes, the Lepus can be used with a wide range of imaging train configurations. The reducer includes a 2" barrel which has an internal M48 x 0.75 thread for 2" filters. The optical thickness of the M54 adapter is 50mm, leaving 55mm to make up to the sensor.
Note: It is not recommended to use the Lepus with Ritchey-Chretien telescopes.

Example showing the Lepus reducer in combination with camera adapter connected directly to a T-ring (T-ring and camera sold separately).
