SKYWATCHER CLASSIC 200mm (8") DOBSONIAN
The SkyWatcher 8" Dobsonian is a large aperture Newtonian reflector telescope with fast f/6 focal ratio, ideal for wide field and deep-sky observation. Big aperture means better light gathering power, letting you see prominent deep-sky object such as nebulae, star clusters and many more.
SkyWatcher Classic Dobsonians are equipped with a 2" Crayford focuser with locking screw and 1.25" eyepiece adapter, allowing easy use of either eyepiece size.
The base features SkyWatcher's Tension Control System which makes it easy to adjust the amount of resistance when positioning the tube, adding just enough friction and tension to allow the tube to move easily when nudged or stay solidly in position.
Dobsonian telescopes are named after John Dobson, an amateur astronomer who designed a very simple but effective telescope system, where the key factor is a large aperture for little money. His idea was to mount a Newtonian telescope on an easy-to-use alt-azimuth mount that does not need time-consuming electronic alignment. As a result, Dobsonians have the quickest setup time of just about any telescope.
