Model

The ARTEC 250E and the ARTEC 250EZ are premium Newtonian telescopes with a super fast focal ratio of f/4.5. The ARTEC project was born to meet the specific needs of professional and advanced astrophotographer, especially in remote observatory or permanent setups.

Each model is crafted using aerospace-grade carbon fibre tubes, quartz optics, and optimized mechanics ensuring stable collimation and perfect focus over long imaging sessions.

The tube is made by a specialized Italian factory using 100% full carbon fibre instead of the usual composite material. Each model has an anti-dust treatment on the inside surface to avoid any reflection; the inside surface presents also some roughness to prevent issues related to humidity.

A system of 3 quiet 12V fans, has been added to the tube with the purpose of helping the cooling phase of the mirror.

The precise manufacturing with CNC machine combined with the high quality of the material used in the process, give to the ARTEC 250E and the ARTEC 250EZ an incredible rigidity in a wide range of operating temperatures

 

 

Focuser and Rotator

The ARTEC 250E has a the PegasusAstro Prodigy 3" focuser already installed that guarantees 9.5 kg of payload without torsions or flexures. The focuser is connected to the telescope with a special plate that has an adjustable tilt system to achieve a perfect focal plane.

A modified version of the focuser is installed on the ARTEC 250EZ to make it compatible with the ZWO ASIAIR

The equipped R.O.A.S.Rotation On Axis System, is a manual rotator system that allows precise adjustments. The M54 x 0.75 male thread allows the installation of several devices and adapters.

 

 

Optics

The primary and secondary mirrors are aluminized and coated to obtain:

  • Reflectivity > 95%
  • Correction ≥ λ/8
  • Strehl ≥ 0.95

Both the ARTEC 200E and ARTEC 250EZ are provided with a dedicated 1.14x Coma Corrector which pushes the focal length of the telescope to 1140mm with a focal ration of f/4.5. The final illuminated circle is 44mm.
