10MICRON LATERAL DOUBLE 3" PLATE - LODUAL XL is not in stock but it can be backordered.
Testar Australia is a technical assistant dealer for 10 Micron. Our staff has been trained at the 10 Micron factory to provide assistance, repairs and maintenance on their products.
The Lodual 3" Lateral Double Plate XL is designed to allow a parallel mounting of two optical tubes on the 10 Micron mounts. Includes the standard 3” dovetail bar (Losmandy compatible) #10M2130XL, as well as two 3” Losmandy compatible clamping plates #10M2085.
The Lodual Parallel Plate System is a sophisticated mechanical solution engineered to expand the versatile instrumentation capacity of 10 Micron mounts. This specialized double plate is specifically designed to facilitate the parallel mounting of two optical tubes, a configuration that provides a significant mechanical advantage over traditional vertical stacking.
By orienting optics side-by-side, the system substantially reduces the leverage exerted on the mount’s axes, enhancing overall rigidity and tracking stability. Furthermore, the Lodual design allows for precise balancing across all axes, including the transverse axis, which is critical for maintaining the accuracy of our absolute encoder systems.
Constructed from high-grade CNC machined aluminium with a durable black anodized finish, the system adheres to the premium manufacturing standards synonymous with the 10 Micron brand.
Compatibility and System Integration
To ensure seamless synergy with 10 Micron's advanced electronic control systems and to maintain the integrity of the pointing and tracking models, specific adaptation is required based on the mount model:
- GM1000 HPS Series: This mount requires the #10M1105 Adapter. This component is essential to maintain the correct orientation and position references for the internal absolute encoders.
- Intermediate and Heavy-Duty Mounts: For all other HPS models, the system requires an additional #10M2085 or #10M2185 3” Losmandy clamping plate for secure installation.
By utilizing the Lodual system, operators can leverage the mount’s ability to store and reload multiple pointing models for different instrument setups within the internal memory. This ensures that the mount's software accounts for the specific flexure and mechanical characteristics of the dual-optics configuration.
