The ZWO ASI 174MM Mini is a guiding and planetary camera with a large sensor and large pixels that are ideal for telescopes with long focal lengths and off-axis guiders.

The ZWO ASI 174MM Mini contains the Sony IMX174LLJ / IMX174LQJ monochrome sensor which has a diagonal of 13.2mm and a resolution of 2.35 MPx.

The sensor has a high QE that reaches 77% at 500 Nm.

The ASI 174MM Mini uses a USB 2.0 type C port and it is also equipped with a ST4 port as guiding alternative.

Compared to the larger ASI174MM camera, the ASI174MM Mini is lighter, ideal for systems where there is not much back focus like off-axis guiders or finderscopes.

174mm - a big step up from the 120mm

I also bought this to use with my OAG; the 120mm didn't find enough stars and failed to guide but the 174mm works every time. Setting the 174mm or 120mm as the main camera in the ASIAir app allows you to compare; the 174mm shows multiples the number of stars the 120mm can, and they are much sharper.
Expensive but worth it

well worth it

Upgrading from 178MC to 174MM has made a real difference to my guiding. There are more stars for PHD to do multi-star guiding, better star profiles, and pixel size suits the image-scale at my FL of 1280mm. Very happy with results.

Zwo asi174 mm mini

I bought this to use as a guide camera for my off axis guider . The large imaging sensor works great with the large prism to get excellent multi star guiding at longer focal lengths. Great product.
