BAADER U-VENUS FILTER 350nm
The Baader U-Venus filter is a 60nm narrowband photographic filter designed for imaging in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum between 320 - 380nm.
When paired with a camera that is sensitive in this region (such as the Touptek G3M 2210M), this allows you to capture cloud structures in the atmosphere of Venus. This is particularly useful when using lucky imaging techniques with telescope larger than 5 - 8" in diameter. The filter completely blocks the rest of the spectrum from 200 - 1120nm.
The U-Venus filter can also be used to image Solar structures visible in the Calcium-K line (when paired with an appropriate front-mounted filter such as the OD 3.8 AstroSolar Film).
Additionally, the U-Venus filter can be used for terrestrial imaging when paired with an appropriately sensitive camera. For instance, it can be used to determine the health of plants. Automotive experts can examine if a vehicle has been repaired as the repaired surfaces are very clearly seen due to differing reflectance. Many other applications are still in testing.
The optical surface is fine-optically polished so that there is no loss of sharpness at high magnifications, even when the filter is positioned far in front of the focal point. The filter is made from a Schott UG-11 substrate with "super stacked" dielectric coatings for pure transmission.
Note: NOT for visual use.

Available in 1.25" and 2" mounted suitable for astronomical equipment. The filter cell is threaded on both ends so that multiple filters can be stacked. All Baader filters (excluding 100 x 100mm) come in stackable labelled filter boxes which can be attached to each other to form a sturdy filter library.

For non-astronomical use, Baader produces a 2" DSLR filter holder (BA2408166) which, in combination with specific thread adapter rings from the SP54 system, allows you to mount their 2" filters to a wide rage of camera lenses.
