SKYWATCHER EVOSTAR 80 ED & ESATTO 2"

While Prima Luce Lab's Esatto upgrade kits are engineered to the exact specifications of the telescope. If the manufacturer changes the design of the tube or the manufacturing tolerances are too great, this is out of our control. As a result, this could put the focus point outside of the range of the Esatto. If this is the case, we have plenty of different extensions available and can design custom adapters if necessary.

The Skywatcher Evostar 80ED is an apochromatic doublet refractor that offers high performance for visual observers and astrophotographers. The objective lens features an element similar in performance to FPL-53, extra-low dispersion glass (ED) that minimizes the chromatic aberration for the best colour correction. 

The objective lens is fully multi coated with the Skywatcher proprietary "Metallic High-Transmission Coating" (MHC) for an effective anti-reflection result that approaches a transmission of 99.5%. The aluminium tube is light-baffled and blackened to ensure high contrast absorbing stray light.

The EVOSTAR 80 ED telescope has a Crayford focuser that doesn't offer a high load capacity so it is not recommended for long exposure astrophotography with heavy cameras or accessories. This special version of the Skywatcher EVOSTAR 80 ED adds ESATTO 2", the new generation robotic focuser that you control by any Windows computer by connecting it to a USB port, or via WiFi by using ESATTO app on your smartphone or tablet with the Virtual HandPad.

On the camera side, ESATTO has a M56x1 male thread to connect and manually rotate many cameras and accessories by adding the optional adapters with stop rings. The 2” version of the ESATTO 2" has a depth of 67mm, it has 15mm of focuser tube travel, a 5kg payload capacity and an incredible resolution of 0,04 micron per step. Based on the camera and accessories you want to connect, you may need extenders to reach the focus with your camera.
