PRIMA LUCE LAB 155mm RINGS

$579.00 AUD
SKU: PLLANSU155P

Prima Luce Lab

The 155mm PLUS support rings are designed for optical tubes with a diameter of Ø155mm. These rings belong to the PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) that includes a large variety of telescope rings, bars, guide rings and dovetail clamps. The rings have a system of drilled and threaded holes that maximize the compatibility between parts, allowing several mechanical combinations and assembly solutions.

They are compatible with several telescopes such as the Takahashi FS-152, TOA-130 and SkyWatcher Esprit 120 telescopes.

Prima Luce Lab Telescope Rings 155mm

Each component of the PLUS system is carved from aluminium blocks with CNC machines. Then, the aluminium is sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and it is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and to protect it from oxidation.

Due to the particular design, the 155mm PLUS support rings are equipped with tapped holes (above and below each ring) to allow the attachment of:

  1. Vixen or Losmandy bars below the rings to install the telescope on any mount
  2. PLUS guide rings (each ring can be fixed on the support ring with 2 screws)
  3. Vixen or Losmandy bars above the rings to increase the rigidity of the telescope assembly and to allow the installation of other accessories such as dovetail clamps.

    Beautiful and well made rings

I looked at many options for rings to replace the ones on the Esprit 120. I investigated many combinations of different brands and tried to think about compatibility between systems. In the end, I went with PrimaLuceLab because I know they work well with their own system.
Yes, it leaves less room for interoperability between brands, but I now have a complete system that "just works".
I've added extra screws to the bottom so now 8 screws in total hold the scope to the bottom bar and everything is locked in place.
These rings are strong, and well made. My Esprit turned up with rings with the wrong size felt, and these just fit perfect.
