The ZWO ASI 432MM is a professional monochrome planetary camera containing the Sony STARVIS IMX432 CMOS backlit mono sensor which has a large diagonal of 1.1" and a resolution of 1.77 MP. The 432MM can be considered a successor to the popular ASI 174MM, with a larger frame and bigger pixels.

The ASI432MM comes with the ZWO M42 Tilter, making it easy to remove Newton's rings from solar images.

Its large 9µm pixels, huge full well depth of 97ke- and high sensitivity make it an excellent choice for solar and lunar imaging. The global shutter gives it a very high FPS of 120 at full resolution and makes it suitable for imaging of fast moving objects such as the ISS.

 

 

The sensor has a maximum QE up to 79%. This high sensitivity across the visible and near IR light spectrum and very low readout noise make it ideal for high resolution solar and lunar imaging. The large full well depth of 97ke- is three times as much as the ASI174MM, making it easier to capture both solar chromosphere and prominences together in a single frame.

 

 

The USB 3.0 Port provides 5Gbps bandwidth and lets the camera run at 120fps (12bit, normal mode) at full resolution (1.77 Megapixels). Frame rate can be limited by the power of the computer and the writing speed of your hard disk. For higher performance it is suggested to use Solid State Drives. 

The ASI432MM has a HCG mode which effectively reduces readout noise at high gain settings while preserving the same wide dynamic range that you would get at low gain. From 140 gain and higher, HCG mode will automatically activate, giving a read noise as low as 2.9e- with a dynamic range of 12 stops.

The ASI432MM has built-in anti-amp glow circuitry which is implemented directly at the hardware level.
