SKYWATCHER 190/1000 f/5.3 MAKSUTOV NEWTONIAN
The Sky-Watcher 190/1000 Maksutov-Newtonian OTA is a high-performance telescope ideal for both astrophotography and visual observation. With a 190mm aperture, it gathers about 740 times more light than the human eye, delivering bright, detailed images.
Its front meniscus lens, made from high-quality glass, and spherical primary mirror form a Maksutov-Newtonian optical system—offering excellent image quality with high contrast, minimal aberration and a flat, coma-free field. This makes it particularly well-suited for astrophotography using DSLR or CCD cameras.
The optical performance is comparable to that of an apochromatic refractor, but at a significantly lower cost. Unlike achromatic lenses, it produces images free from colour fringing. The closed-tube design also minimizes internal air currents, improving image stability during long exposures.
Thanks to the integrated meniscus lens, the design eliminates the need for diffraction-inducing spider vanes, and the 58mm secondary mirror provides excellent field illumination. With an f/5.3 focal ratio and 1000mm focal length, it supports short exposure times and accommodates a wide range of targets. The field of view is approximately 1.4° (24.4mm) x 1° (17.5mm) when used with an APS-C (half-frame) sensor, such as those in Canon EOS cameras.
A robust 2" Crayford focuser with fine adjustment ensures precise focusing, even with heavier cameras. Weighing just 12.5kg, the OTA is compatible with a variety of mounts.
