FLI PROLINE PL23042MB CCD [MONO]

The FLI ProLine PL23042 MB Mono is a high performance cooled monochrome astronomy camera using the Teledyne e2v CCD230-42 midband back-illluminated CCD sensor with a resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels at 15μm. The 43.4mm diagonal field of view and large pixels make it an ideal match for long focal length telescopes such as PlaneWave CDKs and RCs.

The PL23042's giant pixels, field of view and low noise make it an exceptional choice for critical low-light imaging applications. Like all FLI cameras, the PL23042 is designed for 24/7 operation, making it ideal for professional remote observatories where reliability is paramount.

The PL23042 is available with a 65mm mechanical shutter as standard. With a peak quantum efficiency of 96%, large full well capacity of 150,000e- and dynamic range of 80.9dB, the PL23042 is one of the most sensitive cameras on the market.

The regulated thermoelectric air cooler is capable of cooling the CMOS sensor to approximately 50°C below ambient temperature. The sensor temperature is regulated with ±0.1 °C precision. High temperature reduction and precision regulation ensure very low dark current for long exposures and allow proper image calibration. ProLine series cameras are also plumbed for liquid circulation, further increasing cooling capabilities (external liquid circulation connectors sold separately).

The PL23042 features a USB 2 port for fast image transfers, with 500 kHz and 3 MHz digitization rates at 16-bits.
