FLI KEPLER KL4040FI CMT [MONO]
FLI KEPLER KL4040FI CMT [MONO] - No Shutter / Grade A is not in stock but it can be backordered.
The FLI Kepler KL4040FI CMT Mono is a high performance cooled monochrome astronomy camera using the front-illuminated microlensed Gsense4040 sCMOS sensor with a resolution of 4096 x 4096 pixels at 9μm. The 52.1mm diagonal field of view and large pixels make it an ideal match for long focal length telescopes such as PlaneWave CDKs and RCs.

The KL4040FI has the same pixel size as the popular KAF-16803 CCD, but with 1/3 the noise and 40% peak quantum efficiency. Like all FLI cameras, the KL4040FI is designed for 24/7 operation, making it ideal for professional remote observatories where reliability is paramount.
Kepler series cameras are available with Gsense sCMOS front- or back-illuminated sensors with or without mechanical shutters. Additionally, front-illuminated sensors are available in either CMT microlensed with sealed cover glass or CMN non-microlensed with removable cover glass for fiber bonding. With a peak quantum efficiency of 73% and large dynamic range of 85.2dB, the KL4040FI is ideal for professional astronomical research applications.

The regulated thermoelectric air cooler is capable of cooling the CMOS sensor to approximately 35°C below ambient temperature. The sensor temperature is regulated with ±0.1 °C precision. High temperature reduction and precision regulation ensure very low dark current for long exposures and allow proper image calibration. Kepler series cameras are also plumbed for liquid circulation, further increasing cooling capabilities (external liquid circulation connectors sold separately).
The USB 3.0 port operates at 5 Gbps while the optional QSFP fibre optic connections allow for even faster transfer rates and electrical isolation. Some Kepler models provide a single 12-bit readout mode, while others are capable of 16-bit HDR dual-readout modes, where two 12-bit images are merged using FLI's proprietary algorithms to create an exceptionally linear 16-bit image.
