BAADER DIAMOND STEELTRACK 2" FOCUSER FOR NEWTONIANS

The Baader Diamond Steeltrack 2" Focuser for Newtonians is a high capacity, high precision micro-geared focuser for use with Newtonian reflecting telescopes. Unlike standard Crayford or rack & pinion drives, the true diamond micro-geared mechanism has zero backlash and zero flexure. It is compatible with the Prima Luce Lab Sesto Senso 2 or ZWO EAF electronic focusers. Includes Baader's Versabase for perfect fit onto most tube diameters.

Note: In order to mount the ZWO EAF to the Steeltrack, you will need to drill holes in the slots of the EAF mounting plate. This is because the Steeltrack's accessory screws are M6, which are larger than what the slots will allow by default.

The Diamond Steeltrack 2" focuser can lift a payload of 6kg in a fully vertical position without slipping or excessive bearing preload (bearing preload can be increased further if necessary). The bearing system utilized unbreakable Instrument-grade roller bearings instead of simpler ball bearings, allowing it to handle high loads with greater rigidity and accuracy. Each bearing is individually adjustable for precise alignment of the mechanical vs optical axis. The ultra-hard subzero coated bearing races are precision milled and much harder than anodized or stainless steel. 

The 1:10 stainless steel fine focusing mechanism includes a detachable drive block assembly for reversible right or left hand operation. The zero-shift locking knob precisely stops any movement without affecting optical axis alignment. The drawtube has an oversized 55mm inner diameter to prevent vignetting, with anti-reflection knife-edge baffles.

The built-in S58 dovetail clamp allows you to connect optional T2, M48, M68 and other threaded adapters for direct connection of accessories and cameras without using the 2" clamp. The 2" hardened bronze eyepiece clamp is included as standard. Optionally available is a 2" Clicklock clamp with integrated S58 dovetail for even more precise securing of accessories. The focus tube includes both M60 x 1 and M55 x 0.75 threads for direct connection of some flatteners/reducers.
