GEOPTIK 12" NADIRUS DOBSONIAN COMPLETE

Note: This kit includes both primary and secondary mirrors, focuser and Telrad reflex finder.

The Geoptik Nadirus 12" complete kit is a high quality Italian-designed and manufactured Dobsonian telescope made from lamellar beech and birch, resulting in a lightweight and stable structure. The entire structure is coated for outdoor use.

The complete kit includes a 12" f/5 GSO parabolic primary mirror and 70mm GSO elliptical secondary mirror. The mirrors are made from BK-7 glass with highly reflective aluminium coating and a protective coating of silicon oxide. GSO guarantees diffraction limited performance with a typical surface quality of 1/16 wave or better.

Also included in the complete kit is a high quality 2" low profile rack & pinion focuser with 11:1 fine focus control and integrated drawtube extension, plus the Telrad reflex finder scope.

Note: the mirrors are not pre-installed. For attaching the secondary mirror, we recommend using Sikaflex 252 sealant. The kit does not include the primary mirror fan.

The upper tube housing is made of birch plywood giving unique strength and stability to the secondary mirror spider. The primary mirror cell is made of birch plywood with a support system where the 9-point floating mirror rests on discs of natural cork foam. Teflon strips on both altitude and azimuth make for incredibly smooth operation.

Every part of the telescope has been designed and engineered taking into account a variety of technical and practical aspects. The Italian style, quality of materials and engineering considerations makes it absolutely unique and one of the best Dobsonian kits on the market.

Note: As the Nadirus is a handmade object using real wood (not cheap chipboard), there may be inconsistencies in the finish, colour and grain pattern of the wooden parts. Consequently, such minor imperfections are normal and will not affect the longevity or function of the telescope.
