ASKAR N160 f/3.4 NEWTONIAN

The Askar N160 is a fast f/3.4 Newtonian astrograph that offers high performance for an exceptionally low price. When paired with the included 0.95x triplet coma corrector, the N160 delivers sharp stars across an APS-C frame. 

Utilizing ultra-low thermal expansion borosilicate glass mirrors with enhanced aluminium coatings, the N160 delivers sharp, clear images with excellent illumination across the APS-C field of view. The carbon fibre tube ensures structural stability and optical alignment over a wide temperature range whilst maintaining light weight.

Collimation of the N160 is straightforward and stable thanks to oversized primary mirror knobs and 3mm hex screws on the secondary spider. Distance to the correcting lens can be precisely fine-tuned using the included 0.1 - 0.3mm shims, ensuring sharp stars corner to corner.

The N160 is equipped with a smooth and rigid dual-speed rack & pinion focuser which is natively compatible with many common electronic focus motors like the ZWO EAF. Three pairs of push-pull adjustment screws allow easy tilt adjustment and rotation for precise framing.

Thanks to the included 0.95x triplet coma corrector, the N160 doesn't need extra accessories to be imaging-ready. This reduces the native f/3.6 focal ratio and 576mm focal length down to f/3.4 and 544mm, ideal for capturing many nebulae. The corrector features male M48 x 0.75 threads for secure connection to common imaging trains.

The slotted handlebar allows you to mount guidescopes, control units and other accessories which have a finder-style dovetail, like the ZWO ASIAIR or ToupTek StellaVita. The included 230mm Vixen-style dovetail bar allows you to use the N160 with a wide range of telescope mounts.
