The Askar V is a modular apochromatic triplet refractor system featuring interchangeable 60mm & 80mm objectives and three different correctors. Both 60mm & 80mm objective lenses include two elements of ED glass, which effectively controls chromatic aberration. A 1x flattener, 0.75x reducer and 1.2x extender give you a total of six different optical configurations.
To keep things simple, each configuration has the same backfocus requirement of 55mm, making it easy to swap between setups without changing the imaging train. Each corrector includes both M54 and M48 adapters with built-in 2" filter threads to suit a wide range of cameras.
The Askar V includes a newly-designed 360 degree rotator with scale, multifunctional handle with finder-style dovetail groove, standard finder base and 1.25 & 2" visual backs.
When paired with the V Flattener, the focal length remains the standard 360mm and focal ratio f/6 with the 60mm objective, or 495mm and f/6.18 with the 80mm objective.
With the V Reducer, the focal length becomes 270mm and f/4.5 with the 60mm objective, or 384mm and f/4.8 with the 80mm objective.
With the V Extender, the focal length becomes 446mm and f/7.43 with the 60mm objective, or 600mm and f/7.5 with the 80mm objective.
