The QHY 5L-II-M is the ideal camera for autoguiding and planetary imaging. It is extremely compact as it measures 1.25" in diameter so it can fit in standard off axis guiders and guide scopes. The 1.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor has an exceptionally high quantum efficiency at 74% and medium sized 3.75 micron pixels for a high signal to noise ratio. It is equipped with a USB 2.0 port that allows a download speed of up to 30 fps at full resolution (1280x960).

The read noise is remarkably low at 4 electrons. The on-chip FPN calibration circuit drastically reduces the Fixed Pattern Noise. This technology allows to resolve one of the biggest problems of the CMOS technology, eliminating the banding pattern (Fixed Pattern Noise) caused by a different response of the pixel columns.
