The Vixen bar 140mm belongs to the PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) that includes a large variety of telescope rings, bars, guide rings and dovetail clamps. The bar has a system of slots, drilled and threaded holes that maximize the compatibility between parts, allowing several mechanical combinations and assembly solutions. The bar is also compatible with Arca-Swiss saddles.

Each component of the PLUS system is carved from aluminium blocks that are CNC machined. Then, the aluminium is sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and to protect it from oxidation.

Due to its particular design, the Vixen plate 140mm PLUS can be:

  1. Positioned below telescope rings
  2. Installed below a DSLR camera (connection screw not included)
  3. Installed below a telescope or a camera to connect it to a photographic head with Arca-Swiss dovetail clamp
  4. Installed above the support telescope rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the telescope (and it allows you to attach other accessories such as guide rings).

 

 

Vixen style 140mm dovetail plate installed below 105mm PLUS support rings. Above the support rings the EAGLE CORE is installed with 80mm PLUS guide rings. If you have other brands' mechanical accessories, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system.

 

 

To the left, Vixen 140mm PLUS dovetail bar installed under the telescope allows the installation on a mount with Vixen type dovetail clamp. To the right, the same bar allows the installation of the same telescope on a photographic head with Arca-Swiss type clamp.
