The Player One small form factor Dwarf Planet series is designed for guiding and planetary imaging. The Xena-M features Sony's IMX249 1/1.2" monochrome CMOS sensor with a diagonal of 13.3mm. The IMX249's 5.86μm pixel size, full well depth of 32Ke- and 2.3MP resolution make it great for guiding with off axis guiders and long focal length telescopes. 

 

 

With 256MB of DDR3 memory and USB3.0, the camera delivers a fast frame rate of up to 48FPS without frame dropping in RAW8 mode (with 10-bit ADC). This is achieved by hardware overclocking of the sensor, which Player One terms Nova Boosting technology.

 

 

 The Xena-M camera can reach a low readout noise of 3.57e at a gain of 350

Note: When recording images, since the actual writing speed will be affected by the writing speed of the hard disk itself, therefore it is recommended that you use a high-quality solid state drive to record data to give full play to the performance of the camera.

 

 

Player One's planetary and solar cameras feature DPS (Dead Pixel Suppression) technology. This is a sort of automatic dark frame subtraction of hot/stuck pixels which is performed in-camera.
