The Sharpstar 76EDPH APO is a fast apochromatic triplet with a focal ratio of f/5.5 and a focal length of 418mm. The objective lens includes one Extra Low Dispersion glass for a superb chromatic correction.

This telescope is light and compact and it works at its best when combined with its 0.82x field flattener and reducer (not included), resulting in the focal length of 342mm and the focal ratio f/4.5. This corrector is specifically designed for this instrument and it delivers an exceptionally large corrected image circle of 44mm where the full frame fits completely.

The large rack and pinion 2.5" focuser can be rotated 360° and it has a reduction gear of 1:10 for precise focusing. The telescope has a long backfocus to allow the use of flattener/reducers and any kind of accessory. To reach the focus without the flattener/reducer, it is recommended to use a 50mm tube extensionThe focuser is compatible with the ZWO EAF electronic focuser bracket.

All the lenses are fully multi-coated and the tube is internally blackened to reduce reflections and absorb stray light. The tube is made of aluminium, the rack and pinion focusing mechanism of brass and the mechanic components are engineered to provide the best rigidity, performance and durability.

This telescope works at its best with its own focal reducer and corrector delivering a fully corrected field of view for the full frame sensors. The CCD inspector results shows that across the entire full frame this telescope produces a "curvature" of only 18.6%. That means at the corner of a full frame sensor, stars are only 18.6% larger than in the center. For more information about CCD Inspector, please read this article in the Testar blog.

CCD Inspector results with SharpStar 76 EDPH combined with its field flattener and reducer.

Vignetting SharpStar 76 EDPH

The field is truly fully illuminated for the entire full frame format. The maximum vignetting is less than 3% at the corner of the sensor.

Great scope to a very reasonable price

This was my entry level scope and I love it from day one. It works perfectly with my EQM-35 Pro, so very versatile for use on my rooftop (Bortle 5) and when travelling to dark sites.
My only regret is that I didn't purchased the flattener when I ordered the scope - the flattener will do wonder on an already very capable piece of engineering.
Highly recommended!

Great travel scope

I bought the Sharpstar 76 EDPH with field flattener mainly for travelling to dark sites. I tested it in Lightning Ridge and took some great images from Horsehead Nebular as first start with AZEQ6 and ZWO 294pro. At the moment I am not using an automatic focuser, which is on my list for the near future. But even focusing by hand using NINA leads to some great results. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in astrophotography to get this scope.
I am starting to use it at home as well with Optolong L-pro and still loving it. Nothing can beat dark skies, but having more time and a constant setup at home makes up for it. I use it now 90% of the time and losing interest in my 9.25SCT.

Wow..

Purchased the Sharpstar 76 EDPH a little while back .. what a great scope.. I am still learning but this scope just gives and gives.. the quality of the pics I get is amazing.. its small, its fast.. its very portable.. I can pack it, my star adventurer mount, my dslr and accessories into a back pack. I love it.. I will have this little gem for many years..

Tiny telescope with huge ability

This "little" telescope with its 0.82x Reducer/Flattener has given me Full Frame images with an APS-C sized camera.
Connect a Sesto Senso 2 Focusing Motor to it and I honestly believe that you'll have the perfect imaging telescope rig for huge Nebulae, Galaxy Clusters (my current obsession) and of course those often difficult to image Dark Nebulae like the Coal Sack Dark Nebulae.

My 76EDPH Triplet is my GO TO telescope when I'm at a dark sky site or at home.

It's light weight, easy to handle and produces exceptional quality images all the way to the edges.

A MUST HAVE for even the most obsessed Astrophotographers ............................. like myself .....
