The Player One small form factor Dwarf Planet series is designed for guiding and planetary imaging. The Sedna-M features Sony's IMX178 1/1.8" monochrome CMOS sensor with a diagonal of 9mm. The IMX178's 2.4μm pixel size, full well depth of 15Ke- and 6.4MP resolution make it great for guiding with medium focal length telescopes such as Newtonians or large refractors.

With 256MB of DDR3 memory and USB3.0, the camera delivers a fast frame rate of up to 60FPS without frame dropping in RAW8 mode (with 10-bit ADC).

The Sedna-M camera can reach a low readout noise of 1.34e at a gain of 350. The Sedna-M camera has a unique High Gain Conversion mode, which will automatically turn on when the camera gain setting is >30. The HCG mode can greatly reduce the readout noise and retain the same high dynamic range as the low gain.

Note: When recording images, since the actual writing speed will be affected by the writing speed of the hard disk itself, therefore it is recommended that you use a high-quality solid state drive to record data to give full play to the performance of the camera.

Player One's planetary and solar cameras feature DPS (Dead Pixel Suppression) technology. This is a sort of automatic dark frame subtraction of hot/stuck pixels which is performed in-camera.
