The ZWO ASI 071MC PRO is a cooled colour camera with a large APS-C sensor offered for a very competitive price.
The ZWO ASI 071MC contains the popular Sony IMX071 CMOS colour sensor that has a diagonal of 28.4mm and a resolution of 16.23 MPx. The high dynamic range of 14 bits and the low read noise of 2.3e @24db makes this camera ideal for the advanced astrophotographer.
All the ZWO PRO cameras includes a 256MB DDR3 memory buffer that improves data transfer reliability and it minimizes the amp-glow caused by slow data transfer speeds.
The USB 3.0 Port provides 5Gbps bandwidth and lets the camera run at 10fps (14bit, normal mode) at full resolution (16Mega).
The USB 2.0 Hub allows to connect 2 USB controlled accessories such as a filter wheel, a guiding camera or an electronic focuser reducing the amount of cables that run directly from your computer.
The 2 stages TEC cooling system allows a ΔT of 35°C below air temperature. The cooling system requires an external power supply of 12V at 3-5A with a 2.1×5.5 mm connector (positive tip). The ASI 071MC can be powered with a standard lead battery or a DC source between 9-15V.
The unique tilting flange of the ASI 071MC allows to align the camera to the optical axes of the telescope and therefore avoiding any collimation issue.
The anti-dew heater system heats the AR protecting window to avoid any dew condensation.
The dark current of the ASI 071MC is extremely low, based on ZWO test results.
