The new Sky-Watcher Wave 100i is a strain wave GO-TO equatorial/alt-azimuth mount designed for serious astrophotography and visual observing. The Wave 100i weighs just 4.3kg yet can support a payload of 10kg without counterweights and 15kg with counterweights. Unlike the larger Wave 150i, the 100i can be configured to carry a second telescope thanks to the possibility of using two separate dovetail saddles (second saddle sold separately).

The Wave 100i uses strain wave gearing, also known as Harmonic Drive, which results in precise tracking, minimal backlash, and a very compact design. With a latitude range of 0-90°, the mount can be used easily anywhere and if a payload of less than 10kg is used, you don't need to worry about the counterweights hitting your tripod.

The mount is equipped with an electromagnetic brake on the RA axis in case of sudden power failure, which will prevent your telescope from being damaged. Unlike most other strain wave mounts, the Wave 100i features a clutch on the RA axis to assist with balancing when a counterweight is used.

The Wave 100i can be used with the SynScan hand controller (sold separately) which allows full control of both R.A. and Dec. axes with 9 slew speeds and 5 arcminute pointing precision, allowing you to quickly and accurately locate objects across the night sky. The Go-To system can automatically slew the telescope on command toward planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters and much more. The SynScan has a database of 42,900 celestial objects. The Synscan system allows you to track at Sidereal, Lunar and Solar rates

Note: The Wave 100i does not include a tripod, pier extension, counterweight shaft or counterweights by default. An optional carbon fibre tripod or heavy duty aluminium tripod specifically designed for this mount are available.
